Job Description:
The Afghan Refugees Skills Program for Inclusion, Resilience & Employment, focuses on enhancing the self-reliance and livelihood potential of Afghan refugees residing in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Under the project's final quarter, beneficiaries enrolled in Tailoring & Embroidery and Computer Literacy trades will undergo Entrepreneurship Development Training (EDT) with a specific emphasis on Financial Literacy. This component aims to strengthen their capacity to manage income, savings, business expenses, and growth strategies for small enterprises. The consultant will deliver the financial literacy module across three batches and support participants in developing basic business plans aligned with their respective trades.
Scope of Work and Expected Deliverables
Main Activities Expected Outputs / Deliverables
Prepare course content and materials Customized Training materials including Financial Literacy & EDT with presentations, exercises, and handouts.
Deliver training sessions Conduct three (03) one-week customized EDT and financial literacy training for tailoring and computer literacy beneficiaries.
Submit final inception report Final report summarizing training outcomes, methodology, learnings, and participant feedback.
Tasks to be Performed by the Consultant
1. Prepare detailed training content and session outlines for financial literacy and entrepreneurship development.
2. Deliver three one-week training sessions for the targeted beneficiaries in Peshawar.
3. Facilitate participants in preparing individual business plans and simple financial management templates.
4. Compile and submit a final inception report, documenting:
• Training design and methodology
• Attendance records and photos
• Business plans developed by participants
• Feedback, outcomes, and recommendations
Methodology
The consultant will employ participatory and practical training techniques to ensure relevance and understanding. Sessions will include group discussions, simulations, case studies, and exercises tailored to the literacy and experience levels of Afghan refugee women and youth. Close coordination with the Project Manager, and the Peshawar field team will be maintained throughout the assignment.
Required Qualifications and Experience
• Master's degree in business administration, Finance, Economics, or Entrepreneurship.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in entrepreneurship training or financial literacy facilitation.
• Proven experience in refugee or women-focused livelihood programs.
•Excellent training and mentoring skills with fluency in Urdu, Pashto, and English.
• Strong documentation, reporting, and presentation skills.
Reporting Requirements
The consultant will report directly to the Project Manager and provide:
• Training materials and agenda
• Attendance sheets and photo documentation
• Business plans developed by beneficiaries
• Final inception report (including training summary, challenges, and recommendations.
Duration of Assignment
The consultancy will last one month, including preparation, training delivery (three batches of one week each), and final reporting.
Payment Terms
The total consultancy fee is payable in two instalments as follows:
Deliverable Payment (%)
Completion of Training Materials & Delivery of Training 50%
Submission of Final Report and MoVs 50%
