A National NGO is looking for dynamic & Professional candidate for the position of Protection Lead / Advisor. Candidates with possession of following essentials are highly encouraged to apply. 

Required Qualification, Expereince & Skills:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, International Relations, Human Rights, Law, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.

Experience:

  • At least 5 years of progressively responsible experience in protection programming within humanitarian or development contexts.
  • Demonstrated experience in designing and implementing protection strategies and interventions, including case management and referral systems.
  • Experience working with vulnerable populations, including refugees and host communities, in KP or similar contexts.
  • Strong understanding of international humanitarian law, human rights frameworks, and protection standards.

Skills:

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop innovative and effective protection responses.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Proficiency in using MS Office and other relevant software for data management and reporting.

Languages:

  • Fluency in English and Pashtu (written and spoken) is required.

Other Requirements:

  • Willingness to travel frequently to project sites
  • Understanding of the socio-political context and challenges in KP and the broader region related to protection issues.

Job Description:

Protection Strategy Development:

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive protection strategy aligned with project goals and international standards.
  • Conduct protection assessments to identify risks, vulnerabilities, and protection needs of both host and refugee communities.
  • Design and oversee the implementation of protection interventions to address identified risks and vulnerabilities.

Case Management and Referral Systems:

  • Establish and manage case management systems to provide timely and appropriate support to individuals with protection concerns.
  • Ensure effective referral mechanisms are in place to link beneficiaries with specialized services, including legal assistance, psychosocial support, and healthcare.

Community Awareness and Sensitization:

  • Develop and implement community awareness programs on protection issues, including human rights, gender-based violence (GBV), child protection, and mine risk education.
  • Conduct training sessions for community members, local leaders, and project staff on protection principles and best practices.

 

Coordination and Networking:

  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders, including government authorities, UN agencies, NGOs, and community-based organizations, to strengthen protection responses and referral pathways.
  • Represent the organization in protection coordination forums and working groups at the local and regional levels.
  • Conduct regular field visits to monitor the quality and progress of protection interventions.
  • Prepare and submit regular reports on protection activities, progress, challenges, and recommendations.

Capacity Building:

  • Identify capacity building needs of project staff, community members in protection principles and practices.
  • Design and deliver training programs to enhance the knowledge and skills of stakeholders in protection-related areas.

Compliance and Risk Management:

  • Ensure compliance with international protection standards, as well as approved policies, procedures, and guidelines.
  • Identify and mitigate risks related to protection concerns, including those related to GBV, child protection, and other vulnerable groups.

Gender and Inclusion:

  • Ensure that protection interventions mainstream gender equality and inclusivity principles.
  • Promote the participation and empowerment of women, girls, and marginalized groups in protection activities.
