Position Objective: Planning, implementation reporting of Agriculture, food security and livelihoods focused interventions

Job Description:

Mission 1: To ensure the efficient and timely implementation and follow up of FSL activities at the project sites:

  • To facilitate community mobilization, meetings and trainings during community led FSL activities in collaboration with the Community Mobilization team of the project;
  • To work with community committees to ensure the identification and selection of the most vulnerable and eligible population and provide information to ensure accountability fairness and transparency during implementation of activities;
  • To work closely with community structures to follow up on implementation of planned community activities                                     
  • Identify the inputs necessary to implement the program with the support of community mobilizers;
  • To participate in the planning of weekly and monthly activities;
  • To support the implementation of capacity building interventions for communities, collaborating with the Community Mobilization team in the identification of training needs, the definition of training subjects and material and the implementation of the training;
  • To directly implement in the field, the activities defined in the program in close collaboration with  other stakeholders in project;
  • To collect the required information in the field to facilitate the follow up of the project, with the support of the community mobilizers;
  • To collect information to ensure the surveillance of the Food Security situation in the area of implementation of the project, when required;                                                     
  • To maintain records of the technical implementation in electronic form and hard copy, if required;
  • To facilitate the evaluation of the project in the field, as required;
  • To participate in assessments.

Mission 2: To organize and provide support to communities and beneficiaries as per project objectives and strategies

  • To participate in the training and education of beneficiaries according to the project requirements and in collaboration with the Community Mobilization Team;
  • To facilitate the provision of technical advice for the implementation of activities;         
  • To organize and implement distributions, either in cash or in kind, related to activities of the project;
  • To collaborate to ensure the coherence of the different activities of the programs in collaboration with other Field staff;
  • To participate in debriefings with the Field teams and PM;
  • To participate actively in initial training sessions and debriefing;
  • To ensure good working relationship between government extension services and communities.

Mission 3:  Reporting

  • To produce project activity reports from the area of operation as per reporting schedule or when needed;
  • To report any changes in the context to allow for timely changes in the project activities.

Mission 4: To implement the Security Plan in the project sites

  • To collect and report any new security information, incident or any change of the context to the Field Supervisor;
  • To respect the security guidelines as set in the Security Plan.

Mission 5: Ensure compliance with ACFs gender equality, child protection sensitivity and Safeguarding policies

  • Read and ensure a full understanding of ACFs Gender, Child Protection and other safeguarding policies  
  • Implement all work related activities with a gender, inclusion and child protection lens
  • Help build an inclusive office environment where people do not feel disadvantaged or judged according to their gender or limited due to manageable disability

Specific skills needed to perform the function

  • Two years of experience in similar positions
  • Graduation Degree (Relevant degree would be preferred)
  • Experience in emergencies and early recovery with a focus on implementation Agriculture, food security and livelihoods, MPCA modalities;
  • Deep understanding of local cultures in the area of implementation of the project;
  • Knowledge of local languages of the area of implementation of the project.
  • Good team work                                                                                                           
  • Ability to take initiative where appropriate to deal with difficulties encountered in daily work;
  • Capacity of working long hours;
  • Knowledge of English.

External relationships: Main program stakeholders in daily exchange of information related with activities including agriculture and livestock department, Academia, local government, service providers, other actors, NGOS, INGOs in the target location.
