Job Description

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Finance Intern to join our team. The Finance Intern will primarily be responsible for assisting with bookkeeping tasks and financial record-keeping. This role presents an excellent opportunity for a student or recent graduate eager to gain practical experience in finance and accounting within a dynamic work environment.

JDs include the following:

  • Record financial transactions accurately and promptly using appropriate accounting software and tools.
  • Reconcile bank statements to identify discrepancies and ensure financial accuracy.
  • Maintain detailed financial records, including ledgers, journals, and subsidiary accounts, to provide a clear audit trail and support financial reporting.
  • Assist in the preparation of management accounts, including profit and loss statements, budget vs. actual analysis, and variance reports.
  • Aid in the preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness in financial reporting, adhering to established guidelines and deadlines.
  • Compile and review expense reports to verify expenses and reconcile them with company policies and budgets.
  • Manage other financial documents, such as purchase orders, receipts, and payment vouchers, to maintain organized financial records.
  • Contribute to the preparation of comprehensive financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
  • Provide support to the finance team by conducting financial analysis and research as required for decision-making purposes.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and tasks assigned by supervisors or senior team members, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in handling diverse responsibilities.
  • Take initiative in identifying opportunities for process improvements or efficiency enhancements within the finance function.

Education & Experience

The candidate must have the following:

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree program in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and financial concepts.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office applications.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Prior experience with bookkeeping or accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills and eagerness to learn.
